PODS (Portable On Demand Storage) and their clones are the latest twist in the storage marketplace. If your needs are short term and your time is valuable then this may be the best storage solution for you.
Public Storage is one of the oldest and largest self storage companies in the world. Some of their locations are small cities unto themselves. With locations throughout the U.S., Canada and Europe, there is probably one near you. They provide consistent quality and a reasonable price.
Storage USA was recently acquired by Extra Space Storage making it a major player in the self-storage industry. They're not everywhere yet but they are growing rapidly.
Adam’s All Natural Cedar has some great all natural cedar storage boxes that are perfect for the deck or the backyard. These are attractive and nearly zero maintenance.
Garage Cabinets Online would fall into the "high end" of the garage storage market. Their products are designed for the serious mechanic or someone who leaves their garage door open a lot and wants to impress the neighbors.
Slide-Lok is more of a mid-range storage solution provider. Most of their products are wood based, easy to install and for a few extra dollars you can get some really cleverly designed hangers. Their new "Slat Wall" is a serious upgrade from the old peg board storage that was common 20 years ago.
One of our favorite storage sites is Gary Katz’s webpage. There are step by step plans for creating more storage in your closets plus, he's not trying to sell you anything.
Here is another along the same lines. The Garage Workspace Project. It shows, in nice photos, how you can create more space in your garage.
California Closets is the grand daddy of custom closet storage solutions. They are not inexpensive, but the finished products are awesome.
Rubbermaid makes plastic storage boxes and sheds that can be assembled without tools. While they may not be the cutest girl at the prom, they are reasonably priced and nearly indestructible.
Stacks and Stacks HomeWares has a really nice selection of home storage products. Their webpage has some great photos of different storage solutions and could give you some really good ideas for your storage problems.
